If this is your first time fishing in Alaska Bob is the Captain for you. If you are a seasoned fisherman or woman again, Bob is the Captain for you. Rain or shine you will catch a fish. If you do not catch a fish within your time frame he will stay later on the water with you at no charge so you experience what its like to catch a Salmon. He takes great pride in watching people enjoy doing what he loves the most. What you see is what you get and that is a genuine human being that we need more of in this world. If you require more attention than others he will help you and make sure your needs are met. A caring soul who has the best campfire stories you will ever hear. I fished with him two days in a row. He went above the clouds and beyond any River in Alaska to make sure not only that I realed in a big salmon , but made sure i had everything I needed. Also, it started raining and he gave me the gear I needed. I took home Salmon, a bigger smile than i came with, and lots of great memories in the great outdoors. Give Scout Lake Bob a call. Robert was outstanding. He took the time to teach us the right way to fish for salmon and never gave up, even on a slow day. He made sure we stayed out until we caught fish, which really set him apart. I’ve never had a charter captain quite like him, and I’ll gladly recommend Robert to anyone wanting to fish the Kenai.

We truly enjoyed this trip from start to finish. Our guide was kind, considerate, and went the extra mile by spending additional hours helping us catch more fish. He even provided food on the boat, which made the experience even better. It was a joyful day on the water, and we are very grateful for the excellent service. Thank you!

It was a slower day on the water, but Captain Bob never gave up and gave us his full effort. He stayed out as long as we wanted, working hard until we caught fish and making the trip enjoyable. Even though we booked a 6-hour charter, he stayed with us for 10 hours and still offered to take us out again the next morning at no charge. His dedication and generosity made this an unforgettable experience.

Fishing was a bit slow, but definitely not the captain’s fault—he worked hard to get us on salmon. If you want a captain who’s truly committed to helping you catch fish, he’s the one. Thanks for a memorable trip; it’s not just about the catch, but the experience itself!

Our guide Bob was fantastic—friendly, patient, and eager to teach us the best ways to catch salmon. He made the trip fun with great stories, especially about the bananas he kept on the boat. The backdrop of the river and mountains made it even more memorable. It truly felt like living the Alaska dream as a family with such a personable guide. We finished the day with 18 fish and memories my kids and I will cherish forever!

Captain Robert worked hard to give us a great experience. I was initially unsure because his rates were lower, but by the end of the trip he proved to be exceptional. He was punctual, kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable, while showing great patience with anglers of all skill levels. We had an amazing experience on our trip. Even though we were a bit early in the season and didn’t quite hit our limit, it wasn’t for lack of effort from Robert. He showed incredible dedication, constantly changing spots, techniques, and lures to maximize our chances. His knowledge of the river, the fish, and the local community is unmatched. Robert went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable day on the water.

Robert was fantastic and incredibly patient with my 11-year-old daughter. He shared entertaining stories, taught us the basics of flossing, and made the trip a great experience. What stood out even more was hearing about his mission to support veterans with PTSD through his work, which made the day truly meaningful.

My grandson and I had a wonderful experience with Scout Lake Adventures. Captain Robert was patient, accommodating, and never gave up even when the river was slow. On our second day, he took us lake trolling for trout, where we caught plenty and picked up new techniques along the way. It was a fun and memorable trip that we’ll always appreciate.

My wife and I had a great time fishing with Robert. Hooked lots of fish, had fun with the others with us, had a father and son from Germany with our group and Robert was great with the language barrier. Highly recommend.
