Captain Bob and deckhand Corbin were fantastic! My 12-year-old son and I had an amazing time on the water. We knew the river fishing would be a little slow this time of year, so when conditions called for a change of plans, Captain Bob quickly adapted and took us to the lake instead. It turned out to be the perfect move, and the fishing was well worth it.What stood out most was how hard Captain Bob worked to make sure we had a great experience. His dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to putting us on fish made the trip enjoyable from start to finish. We had a blast and would gladly recommend Captain Bob to anyone looking for a memorable day on the water!

If this is your first time fishing in Alaska Bob is the Captain for you. If you are a seasoned fisherman or woman again, Bob is the Captain for you. Rain or shine you will catch a fish. If you do not catch a fish within your time frame he will stay later on the water with you at no charge so you experience what its like to catch a Salmon. He takes great pride in watching people enjoy doing what he loves the most. What you see is what you get and that is a genuine human being that we need more of in this world. If you require more attention than others he will help you and make sure your needs are met. A caring soul who has the best campfire stories you will ever hear. I fished with him two days in a row. He went above the clouds and beyond any River in Alaska to make sure not only that I realed in a big salmon , but made sure i had everything I needed. Also, it started raining and he gave me the gear I needed. I took home Salmon, a bigger smile than i came with, and lots of great memories in the great outdoors. Give Scout Lake Bob a call. It was a slower day on the water, but Captain Bob never gave up and gave us his full effort. He stayed out as long as we wanted, working hard until we caught fish and making the trip enjoyable. Even though we booked a 6-hour charter, he stayed with us for 10 hours and still offered to take us out again the next morning at no charge. His dedication and generosity made this an unforgettable experience.

Captain Robert worked hard to give us a great experience. I was initially unsure because his rates were lower, but by the end of the trip he proved to be exceptional. He was punctual, kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable, while showing great patience with anglers of all skill levels. His priority was always making sure we had a memorable trip, and I’ll definitely be fishing with him again. Thank you, Captain Robert!

Robert was fantastic and incredibly patient with my 11-year-old daughter. He shared entertaining stories, taught us the basics of flossing, and made the trip a great experience. What stood out even more was hearing about his mission to support veterans with PTSD through his work, which made the day truly meaningful.

My grandson and I had a wonderful experience with Scout Lake Adventures. Captain Robert was patient, accommodating, and never gave up even when the river was slow. On our second day, he took us lake trolling for trout, where we caught plenty and picked up new techniques along the way. It was a fun and memorable trip that we’ll always appreciate.

Robert is an exceptional and professional fishing guide! My wife and I booked a half-day trip with him on the Kenai River to target some silver salmon, as we had been unsuccessful on our own in the preceding days. Robert was punctual and friendly, and he even had coffee and donuts on board for the chilly morning. He generously offered us a taste of his delicious smoked salmon as well. Robert displayed great knowledge, taking us to a prime spot on the river and working hard to set us up for a successful day of fishing. Despite slow bites due to river conditions and the late season for coho, Robert kept us engaged with a wealth of captivating stories. We also learned about a non-profit initiative he started, which was fascinating to hear about (be sure to ask him!). My wife managed to catch one silver salmon, which Robert expertly filleted for us at the end of the trip. He also informed us about his lodging options through Scoutlake Adventures, which piqued our interest. Our charter with Robert was truly memorable, and we will not hesitate to recommend his fishing excursions and accommodations to our friends and family. We look forward to booking with him again on our next visit to Alaska! :)

We successfully landed 2 Silver salmon (and missed 2 others that didn't make it into the boat), but regardless, we had a fantastic day on the stunning Kenai River. During our final 30 minutes in our original spot, a magnificent eagle landed in a tree right beside us on the bank. It was a perfect way to conclude the day as the sun set. We embarked on a honeymoon fishing excursion with Captain Robert, and it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We both caught our limits and had a great time. The captain was well-versed in the local fisheries, engaging to talk to, and even took us eagle watching after we finished fishing. He provided top-notch gear and had a heater to keep us warm on the chilly morning. It was an adventure we will always cherish! Despite the slow fishing conditions caused by the flooding on the Kenai, we managed to catch a few fish. Robert was extremely pleasant and personable. We would certainly fish with him again.
